Here's another one I use on a fairly frequent basis.
Ever ask a customer what phone they have only to hear "I dunno"? Well, get the imei from them (have them press *#06#) and use the IMEI number analysis located here:
I bet most GSM-based reps already know this one, but another I use frequently is http://www.gsmworld.com/index.shtml which has coverage maps for all GSM carriers in the world broken down by frequency. It even lists roaming agreements per carrier.

You can also do other things like look up a sim card ICCID to see what carrier it belongs to.
does anyone have a site like this for ESN's? I've had a couple customers try and activate non-AWS phones and it could help.

sorry for posting without websites here, but i found teh answer to the question. there is no database for IMEI's, only ESN's. and i was informed only our tech dept. has access to that list...in case anyone was wondering

we have access to it... you get the esn... plug it into Axys and it will tell you...
