Hi,

Hopefully xxSamsungxx can help me with this one, since he is on Rogers too.

I want to upgrade my phone to the latest firmware, and I might as well do the bootloader first. I'm new at this, but I've learned how to flash the thing. But my question is, what version of firmware and bootloader should I use to flash my phone with considering I am on the Rogers network? I ask because there is a new version (for Vodafone) and an older one for stock Moto's. What should I use? I dont want vodafone ads and stuff on my fone. And to be honest, if you can tell me how to remove all the stock photos and sounds (i know how to use p2kmanager and tools), if you can explain what files, and how to remove that would be nice. But anyways, what is the diff. between the newer and older firmware (vodafone and stock) as far as features/performance goes. And what should I use for my Rogers phone?... All I really want is the video recorder, and if you can explain how to unlock the phone too, thatd be sweet (i know how to use p2kseem).

Anyways, I know it's alot, but if you can help me out since nobody knows about Rogers, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Basically if you can answer the other questions, that would be nice. But mainly I need steps of what to do and when (bootloader first, firmware after...) and also let me know which files I should be using (and version) to upgrade firmware.

Thank you... I look foreward to your response.

- Justen H.

btw: You know where I can find this? (I just read the following)
there is a new Rogers RAZR firmware now availale from motorola and it's partners:
Version R374_G_0E.41.C3R_B, GSMV3VCRGR01NA120.

Think you only need to upgrade your firmware so look for reflash 42.09R or 42.0CR these will kepp your Roger flex . Only upgrade your boot loader to 8.23 is enought do not go fro 8.26 if your fone is not unlock.

Firmware is new enough, but upgrade to 42.0CR dont touch your bootloader though leave it as is. Dont worry about your flex it has nothing to do with the video mod, if you want to debrand just use motox's unbranding kit at www.motox.us its in the 101 section.

Thank you xxSamsungxx,

I flashed with v42.0cr from Motox (reflash), and it was succesful-I have confirmed this with *#9999#. But I dont see any changes besides the free space (7mb). I'm not sure what else is new, but I can't find the video camera feature. I went into 'Multimedia' and I have the same menus (as far as i can see). Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, or maybe there's more I need to do?

Please let me know. Thank you...

I updated as you know, but I want to change the picture that is displayed outside the flip. It used to say "Rogers", then after the SEEM update from the .rar file I see a motorolla logo. I want to change that picture. So I edited the moto pic (keeping the same resolution), and uploaded it to the fone, then changed the attributes of the file to 44 or whatever... And still nothing... Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanx!
