and I forgot to mention.. I have my ringtone set to full volume so i can hear it through my coat! Strangely, all of a sudden, my phone rings quiet for about 2 seconds THEN goes to full volume!! It worked fine until say yesterday when i noticed this!!
I wonder if the Carrier software is the one to blame for unstable activity!!?
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the flashing software? I'd quite happily do it myself and not deal with amateurs..

Nice one Hannes..
The new version of the Studio 3 works great!
ONLY 1 problem: It turns out that I cannot sync any contact BACK to the phone if there is anything in the 'Note' field!! (Please be aware that I have discovered this after much trial and annoyance).
What I mean is, I synced my contacts from my phone to my PC fine. When I tried to move my contacts from my phone back to my PC (on return from service) I got an error message on certain contacts! It was then that I realised the culprits were contacts with Notes!!
By the way, if anyone is experiencing Runtime Errors, just fix your registry and that'll end that problem.
Yes, yes.. I know I'm going on a little but I sent my D600 back to Samsung UK as the Incoming Ring tone was taking 2-3 seconds to reach full volume (5)! I have received the phone back as they discovered a problem with some parts (now replaced) and the phone does the same thing but now with only 1.5 seconds delay!?
Does anyone else out there have the same thing happen? Is this a problem or is it just the wqay the phone is?? Any feedback would be great b4 i take this up with Samsung (AGAIN)..

Ok, what you need to do is COMPLETELY remove Mobile Master AND PC Studio from your machine!
I did this by using search and deleting ANYTHING that matches either 'Samsung' or 'master' (the latter as long as it looks like its mobile master!).
I then ran Norton SystemWorks to fix the registry and rebooted.
Now, once you have restarted, take a look at the samsung site for the PC Studio download at:
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?C DSite=HQ&CttFileID=431075&CDCttType=SW&ModelType=N&ModelName=SGH-D600& VPath=SW/200601/20060104132702859_Samsung_PC_Studio_3_EL6.exe
this is the latest version as from TODAY! Now install it..
I was helped out on this by another forum!! It seems that the software has been updated 3 times since early December!! The new version should irradicate the "phone error".
FYI If you have any runtime errors with PC Studio at any time, fix your registry and all will be well.

Oh yess.. I forgot to mention! After being on many a forum, I have concluded that the ring-tone full volume delay is a safety feature deliberately put in place by Samsung just in case anybody puts the phone to their ear too quick!
Tis funny tho that even Samsung UK didn't advise or pick up on this and even replaced parts!!
I'm settling for the delay for now until someone tells me better as it seems that other users have the same thing happen on their phones too..
Cheers all..

(Old thread revival)
I recently experienced the infamous "phone error occurred" problem with Samsung's "PC Studio 3" (version 3.1.2 GF2) after trying a demo version of "Mobile Master" (version 6.9.4) with my SGH-E250 (H/W version MP 1.705, S/W version E250XAFK7 20:25:18 Nov 21 2006) via Bluetooth connection.
First, I regained access to the phone by installing an old version of PC Studio 3 (version 3.1.1 FKB, look for the following installer on Google: Samsung_PC_Studio_311_FKB.exe) and canceling the "Live Update" option when prompted (otherwise it will install the latest version and the same error message will reappear).
Then, I backed up the phonebook's contact list and calendar by synchronizing the phone with Outlook using PC Studio 3. Make sure that your contacts don't have two numbers of the same type (e.g. two 'mobile' numbers), as Outlook will only store one number for each type.
The next step was to perform a "custom reset" of the phone. Notice that this is different from a "full reset". A "full reset" will also reset you IMEI number! whereas "custom reset" won't. Also keep in mind that this option will CLEAR your contact list and calendar events, it will also reset all your phone settings! In my particular case, SMS messages were NOT deleted nor the image/music/sound files. But it's still a good idea to backup those files as well.
To proceed with the "custom reset", enter the following code: *2767*2878#
The phone will show the message "E2P Custom Reset", then will freeze for a few seconds and reset itself automatically.
Now, update PC Studio 3 to the latest version and try again to connect the phone. It shouldn't show the "phone error occurred" message anymore and work normally.
Report back your results and feel free to leave any comments,
BTW, you can use the following code to check your H/W and S/W version: *#8999*8378#

Hi there!
And great many thanks to strife67 - I had exactly the same problem with E250 and "phone error occurred" problem. I just made the custom reset by code *2767*2878# and the problem is solved! No more errors connection is established without problems.
