i really searched and searched for this, but i can't find instructions for changing the position of the date on my razr. i want to move it to the lower left hand corner across from the time.

does anyone know how to do this? or could you direct me to the forum post where its explained?

oh yeah, WOOHOO, thanks to all who posted info about modding for video recording. i actually did it!

You can move the operator logo, date and time with Motoskin http://www.motoaide.com:8081/download.htm

thank you for the reply. i did finally figure it out, but now my time (which i didn't change the position of) keeps disappearing after i return from a menu selection. if i close the phone the time comes back.

if i switch from digital to analog, the analog display is cut off at the bottom along the same bottom position of where the date now is. is part of the date field blocking out the time field?

note: the date is on the left, the time is on the right.

Could be that you moved something near it that the space allotted (y1, x1, y2, x2) is covering the time, in motoskin go to Options, then text rect, and that should give you an idea if things are going to be overlapping..

Here's an example of the ski file I edited to move the date over the Cingular logo position and move the time right across from it - Notice the white outlines, that's the space alotted, if they overlap then either your the whole thing may disapear or portions of it..

Hope this helps you out..

thank you for your reply. i checked and i can see that my text rectangle for time is shoved off to the right, and it looks like the date rect is what caused it to shove over.

do you mind telling me what position numbers you use for x1 y1 x2 y2?

Here are my settings for each

Time

x1 = 103, y1 = 17, x2 = 174, y2 = 64

Date

x1 = 3, y1 = 17, x2 = 71, y2 = 64

Hope this helps out..

thank you so much for the help. what i did was change x2 for the date to 100. (it was 172 before.) it took some trial and error to get the text box to move into the correct position, but i used your coordinates to figure out what to do.

here is what i came up with:

date
x1 3 y1 173 x2 100 y2 196

time

x1 107 y1 173 x2 175 y2 196

Great to hear, I'm glad I was able to help you out a little bit at least...

By changing the date to 100, you can probably see the "Charge Complete", whereas I see "Charge", but that's ok for me, cause that's all I need to tell if it's complete, otherwise I can see the "Charging Status"...

It's all about testing, testing, and more testing...

I have a v3 and still can't get it to work moving the date to the top right and sure nothing overlaps .I have understood the concept but cannot make it work .the "charging" overlies the date, but when not charging, the date disappears .only appears for coupla seconds from time to time on boot .very frustrated .any ideas?

I fixed it! Go find software called p2kae (p2k Advanced Editor) from here (FREE & legal) the URL easily found on google .the filename is "p2K-Ae.rar" & run it .in it you will see the pulldown for "phone services" and in that "screen settings" and in that check the top box that ENABLES GPRS TEXT and check the first box below on the left NULL STRING ALWAYS SHOW. have it save to the fone .restart the fone .go the same route to the ENABLES GPRS TEXT and uncheck it .write to fone .done ! I piddled with the MotoSkin for several days and couldn't achieve that without the other software .you need drivers for the p2k software to access the fone and of course a usb cable .drivers for p2k are around the net .they often install with basic p2k software .when they start to install, don't get hasty to do anything .there are 3 different drivers and they take some time to install. if you interrupt the process, it's a pill to get around that (good for coupla hours of fiddling) .good luck! my new years present to y'all!
