Ok basically I bought an unlocked V3 razr. it is a european model and when I turn it on I get rogers net nice and full, after like 5 secs it dies to Emergency Only... but if I quickly place a call it last till the call is over... PLEASE HELP! for I am on fido

it may be set to 900/1800 only...
it needs to be auto or 850/1900
From the stand by screen, press the Menu key.
Scroll to "Settings", then press Select.
Scroll to "Network", then press Select.
Scroll to "Network Setup", then press Select.
With "Band" highlighted, then press Change.
Scroll to "Automatic, 850/1900 or 900/1800", then press Select.
Select Done.
The device will search for all available networks.

Ok here is some more info sometimes it picks up rogers as soon as I turn it on... if I make a call before it craps out I can basically talk until the end of time... but as soon as I hang up blamo "emergency Only"
Oh yes when my phone is hooked up to the phone tools software on my comp it say on the pic on the comp that I have reception...wtf?

try ##002# send
this may help... it will disable any callforwarding and deregister from ythe switch... turn the phone oof after doing this...then back on again..to reregister

So I think I it is my sim. I have tested 2 sims for two different phone companies. so I called my provider and they gave me a credit to pay for a new sim. Hopefully it works I will keep in touch as so to give you an aswer in case some else has this problem.
