I think if you install a software in your phone before the phone was stolen,probably you can find it ,because ,this software can record all information about this cell phone and submit it to you own account

You can find your stolen phone but you can lock it. If you know IMEI number and the carrier can lock the phone for you after it's stolen. So even the thief has your phone he can't use it.
