Hi!
I've used the instructions provided in your sticky to successfully unlock two V220 now.
However, my gf has just given me hers to unlock but without success. She let someone else try to unlock it first (fool!) who seems to have flashed it with the locked cingular R365 flash (R365_G_0B.D2.2ER_PDS004_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0B_V220_01_03_63R_GSI V220M0CIN04NA16D_1FF.shx). At least that's what I'm guessing was done - I got the software version & flex details by using PST.
Of course the phone either says 'Contact Service Provider' or 'Enter Subsidy Pass'
So I thought, no problem, I'll do as I've done with other other V220 phones - flash with R364 (R364_G_0B.D1.1FR_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0B_V220_01_05_50R_GCIV220DST 01NA112_1FF.shx), unlock, and flash with the non-branded R365 (R365_G_0B.D2.23R_LP002E_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0B_V220_06_05_54R_SE8509BXXU 1113_1FF.shx).
However after flashing with R364, this phone is being particularly reluctant to unlock. I have tried Motorola Unlocker.exe, chfaken (which appears to be the same) and motorola unlocker 2005.exe all with no luck. Needless to say I can see all the files in p2kman.exe, but that is not particularly useful I don't think. Edit: I should add they all give the message "Rfone found. Connected SUCKesfully, performing cumming. Done", but on powering up the phone it is still locked. (i.e. it still says 'Contact Service Provider' or 'Enter Subsidy Pass')
After this, of course, flashing to R365 doesn't help - as the phone is not unlocked I still get the dreaded 'Enter Subsidy Pass'.
In sheer desperation, I even completely installed all the required software fresh on my new laptop to ensure the software on my pc hadn't corrupted, but still no success.
Any ideas? (other than getting a new girlfriend!)

I've since been advised to unlock it using the smart-clip.
Not had a chance to confirm whether this works yet

Hey Unlockguy,
I see you tried to use the flash below when going back from a R365 flash.
Two Questions:
1. is this the English Language Pack LP0003
2. Does it work with the motorola unlocker.
Your kind thoughts are appreciated.
(R364_G_0B.D1.1FR_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0B_V220_01_05_50R_GCIV220DST 01NA112_1FF.shx),

Hi sworton,
Not quite sure what you mean by 'English Language Pack' but the R364 flash file certainly comes up in English as soon as you power on.
(The non-branded R365 flash file I quoted does not appear to initially be set to English, but will revert to English as soon as you put an English language SIM in the phone - that's everything to English except the Quick Notes under Messages)
I have unlocked quite a few V220s now by using the R364 flash and unlock software with no problems.
In fact I have only failed on the one phone that someone had flashed with the Cingular flash R365_G_0B.D2.2ER_PDS004_LP0003_DRM0001_JPJAVA_G_0B_V220_01_03_63R_GSI V220M0CIN04NA16D_1FF.shx - that one needed the smartclip to unlock.
So it appears to depend on the initial flash level you start with. All other phones I have unlocked are new phones locked to UK networks.

To all who have replied, thanks. I understand the SIM will determine the lnaguauge. I have almost everything I need but have encountered 1 last really dumb problem.
My PC recognizes the V220 with Multiflash Felx when not turned on. When I flash the phone and it says to attach USB cable, it never recognizes the connection.
I have all the flashes and unlocker ready to go. SO if i can get past this I feel confident I can move on. Im trying to get this done before XMAS from y son.
Again, your replies have been great and I thank you very much.
