Why is Verizon SO expensive? Our bills are 3X as much as our friends who have Sprint, etc., for the SAME # of minutes! I only signed on because they advertised the best reception, but I have MORE DROPPED calls than I ever had before! Plus, their Motorolad-made phone has to be be charged EVERY DAY! There's no option for Unlimited Calls with them; and no Fair and Flexible - overages are charged at .49/minute. Very costly. We even lost out on our $150.00 rebate for our phones because our boxes were water-damaged and we sent photocopies of our UPC codes, provided by our dealer. And they are perpetually nasty - I mean vicious - on the phone. Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy ourselves out of our contract (175.00 X 3 phones) to save about 60.00 a month for the next two years? Any advice?

I have had nothing but PROBLEMS with Verizon. I can't wait till my contract is up. They have forever over charged my billa nd I have had to talk with them for hours to straighten it out. They were vharging .49 for every min the first 4 months and it would take almost an hour to get things straightened out. On the third month the employee called me a liar and that I was responsible for the $450 bill. When I called back and complained the manager said they couldn't tell who talked with me.
GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!

I wish they would have mentioned it to me BEFORE I signed on! I wish they would have made their complaints to the FCC and BBB like I am, so others could be aware! Thanks for the reply.

To: "heedthis". I would love to tell you that Alltel would probably suit you just fine, although you live in Illinios. Where Alltel is NOT. I'm sure you know that in order for you to get signed on, you have to live in a market that is owned by the service provider you would like to sign up with? The only other option I would have for you is to check out US Cellular, they seem to be pretty good.
