WOOHOO i found it!! Unbranded, D600E compatible firmware. 100% working, good signal, no branding, no vertical orange menu bar, no t-mobile startup screens!

According to the #*8999*TEST# menu this software was only released on November 19th 2005... its got to be the latest release out there.

The firmware is: D600EXBEK4

Now, before anyone asks, i'm NOT emailing it to anyone... its 77Mb (unzipped) and thats way too large to email. With permission, i'll host it for download though.

For anyone who wants to buy a serial or USB cable to flash their D600 or D600E, they can get this firmware AND all the hardware required from these guys:

Samsung D600 De-Brand Flash Pack

Cheers all, and happy flashing,
Colin

I think I have all I need to do the flash but I need a guide on how to do it and what files to use....

I have the 9v serial cable

**WARNING **

Before commencing the debranding process, you MUST have the phone battery fully charged. We cannot stress this enough, as the flashing process is highly demanding on the d600 battery. Failure to check will result in the flashing process stopping mid way and killing your phone. (see notice at the bottom of this email)

important things to know
------------------------
when flahing d600 make sure you select 1gone at the top

instructions
------------

USB Cable Users
---------------

process takes around 16 min.

connect Cable To PC

Goto System

Goto Hardawre

Goto Device Manager

Expand The Com Ports Area

Locate and write down the assigned com port number for your cable (normally the largest number)

Make sure your D600 Battery is fully charged as this process takes approx 20 min, and if the battery fails you WILL kill your phone.

power off the phone with no sim inserted and connect phone to cable and cable to PC.

select correct com port that you wrote down earlier.

when flahing d600 make sure you select 1gone at the top

com speed should be 921600.

select the BIN + TFS radio button.

D600 users press the BIN button and open the ".cla" file. from the d600 folder

D600 users press the TFS button and open the ".tfs" file. from the d600 folder

Click Start.

tap the power button on the phone when prompted. The phone should not turn on, but software will recognise the ignition.

Phone will connect, and the "Download" button will now be highlighted

click the download button and the flash will begin

Note: the entire flashing process takes approx 16 min.

Once flash has finnished, press stop

Phone successfully flashed

take out and replace battery and power on

i have attempted to flash my D600e with the EXBEK4 firmware which i found on the net.

i believe the flash process is a two part affair.

first you need to flash using the BIN file... which i did (D600EXDEK5.cla). This took about 30 minutes.

However when it came to the TFS part ( D600EXBEK4.tfs ) the oneNand tool shows me the error:

" fail to open <path>\d600exbek4.cgf "

and thats it .... nothing else.

anyone know if this is becuase the TFS file is corrupt or am i overlooking something else?

i really would like to get hold of another source for the file in case its an issue with the one i downloaded... but i can only find one other place to download it : which is on rapidshare.de

HOWEVER it just wont let me download from there.. with some silly error message.

help icon_sad.gif please
