There are various reasons why something like this could happen. Simply put, it might be the European browser pack preloaded is shite when attempting to run our webpages on it. GSM is universal because once unlocked, is no longer proprietary, so all protocols have to be open-ended to function on any network. However, software acting under one protocol may not appreciate another, or vice versa. The preinstalled European browser pack could be shite.
Or it could be a failed attempt by the Cingular servers to upload the new MEdia Net by recognizing your device and failing (the new MEdia Net was released in waves, operating on motorolas first, then other equipment down the line as they tested the sites functionality on all devices.)
I'd say seeing if you're able to reload a new browser onto the phone, and see if that works first. Otherwise, wait. Which is a crappy thing for me to say.

Best bet would be to flash the cingular branded firmware onto the phone.

You'll need to flash it with a Cingular-branded Monster Pack to get it right. It is so important when you buy from eBay that you only buy a Cingular branded phone with a Cingular flex. It is not necessary, but it makes it much easier to use on the network.
Just bought daughter a pink V3 RAZR and it can receive photos but not send them. Not sure about the media piece--How does that happen?? I am a novice at this sort of thing--but the post above regarding "flashing" the phone with a Cingular branded monster pack...where do you get such a thing and go about doing this? HELP!

Do you know of a website that has (relatively) easy instructions to do this?
I am on Cingular and I also got an unlocked pink RAZR from ebay, but manufactured by TMobile and I would really like to do what's best to enable the WAP functions.
Ok, can someone give me a detailed list of things to do, from this Motox site? I downloaded the main program I believe, but it's saying the phone is not connected, but i'm using a usb from my kodak printer dock that fits my phone. I want my browser on my phone to display cingular's MEdianet properly, not like the stuff mentioned in this topic before. If anyone can just help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. My email is dontplaydead27@aol.com.

post in the motorola forum, there's lots of information/people there that can help.
i have the same problem with an unlocked razr v3i i bought off ebay. i cant get the media net to work properly and have tried everything. has anyone been able to figure this out yet?
1 Easy way, but novice's beware, if you screw it up you end up with a thin paperweight, but there may be hope: Flash it with a Cingular Monster pack, what this does is reprogram the phone for cingular branding, You can find the MP at planetmotox.net click Razr V3 for the Standard razr, for the V3i click the v3i on the left side, make sure you have the right firmware on the v3i its R479 I believe, you can check by powering up while holding the star and pound keys, this will bring you to the bootloader screen this will say R479 then some other numbers/letters, for the v3 make sure it says R374 and download the r374 MP then google yourself RSD lite 3.2 and get the drivers from motox.info using any P2k Program, then browse for the MP in RSD lite double check its the right one then hit start. DO NOT TOUCH THE PHONE, don't even look at it funny till its done, then it will reboot and voila you have a cingular phone.
