Probably not. He's gone a long way from just that 1 paperclip...pretty clever. Hmm...I got 2 paperclips. What can I get for that? I'll also throw in a dried-out pen.

I wish...
Doesn't it make you feel a little bit curious, that you'd want to try out something like that? Like they say, one person's trash is another person's treasure

Well, it proofs the power of the internet
But it won't work a second time... just like the million pixel website where you could buy 1 pixel for 1 dollar to use as advertising space... after it success several guys tried the same... without luck.
I wish I would have such brilliant idea

I would trade a pair of scissors for a new car...
That's great that he finally got it... but you're all right. It probably couldn't be done again.
{edit... nevermind... he was ALREADY Canadian...}
Read this though, from Cnn.com:
MacDonald doesn't expect to live in Kipling forever. But he says he'll make it home at least while he settles down to write a book.
Of course, even if the house came free, he'll have the usual homeowner headaches: taxes, utilities, upkeep. It should come as no surprise that MacDonald isn't worried.
"I'll figure something out," he said. "I can get a job. There's three grocery stores in town."
Maybe he can barter for his property tax?

Great... now a TV-Station here in Germany got inspired by this trade...
Now they have the "fairy godmother" which trades stuff... she asks people on the street what they need and what they got to trade... she met two girls who need a new washing machine... and had a knob to start trading...
Knob -> sandglass -> electric iron -> dishes -> carafe -> clock -> painting -> washing machine
and she "only" asked 74 people if they want to trade...
