I have installed Phonetools and have sucessfully connected my phone and everything. I have also sucessfully transferred pictures to and from my phone, but when i transfer a ringtone I have made in the multimedia studio it acts like it tranfers to the phone(takes about 20 seconds or so) but it is on none of my lists or anything, i have tried restarting my computer and the phone but cannot figure it out. Any help would be great. I have searched for a couple hours in the forums but have yet to find a solution to this. THANKS!!!
I have a V3 RAZR by the way...

First, have some patience. This is after all a volunteer community forum and it may take a couple days or so before someone may take the time to check the posts
Now, don't use multi media for something like this. Use something like Audacity or other good freeware pgms for audio clips. Be sure to use the LAME plug-in. Just search the forum for Audacity AND LAME. You will find some posts. There are other pgms as well. You would then use MPT to transfer the audio clip over to your phone as a ringtone.

I have done this using the audacity program and all and then tried to send it with MPT, but to no avail...anyone have some other ideas?

Set the bit rate to 40Kbph
Also make sure it isn't too long - start with a v short clip and see if that works

I have a similar problem: I set the rate of the MP3 to 32 or 40 kbps, transfered the file to the phone and when trying to play, the phone says 'file corrupt'. But on the PC it works fine. It's about 200k of size (15 sec.).
Any ideas?

What version of the LAME MP3 plug-in are you using with Audacity?
What is your LAME bit-rate setting?
Also, read this and see if it helps re the settings you are attempting to use in creating the MP3 file.

I'm transferring the file using the 'Mobile Phone Tools'.

did you ever figure out what the problem is. I am having the exact same problem with my ROKR. The phone is great, but it pisses me off that i can't add ringtones anymore, everything but ringtones. Let me know as soon as you know something. I searched the forums for 2 days and you are the only person i found with the same problem. So please keep me updated.
