Best workaround I've seen is don't answer calls you don't want to take. Sorry - its down to network on this one

Thanks for the help on getting rid of that annoying scrambled text when receiving voicemails. It took me a while to figure out how to connect my L7 to my PC without it wanting to connect to the memory card instead of the phone itself. But now its fixed and its just like the phone came from T-mobile. I suggest using Seemplayer and P2K Tools v. 0.8.6. Works perfectly on SLVR L7's.
I happen to know the site is under development at the moment.
However refer to these:
SEEM 0032_0001
offset 02 -
bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features) some of these features may be SIM dependant anyway, so activating it on your phone may not actually allow you to use it
bit 4: ^@ and _@ VM Indicator SMS Msgs (1 off, 0 on) (**DOES NOT WORK RELIABLY**)

I get this error also. I tried contacting Motorola's (worthless) support line, who told me to remove the battery, blow into it, and replace it. She said "nine times out of ten this fixes those types of problems." By "type of problem" I think she meant problems that she doesn't understand. I also contacted T-Mobile who put me through a series of operators and eventually told me that it's because the phone isn't a T-Mobile brand phone. I got my PEBL in India, and I have a friend with a RAZR also purchased in India. We both use TMobile in the US, and both get these _@ SMSs or (delta)@ SMSs all the time. It seems that whenever T-Mobile tries to send an automated message saying "You have a new voice mail message" our phone can't interpret it, since we don't have the built-in T-Mobile software. From reading this thread, it looks like all of us with this problem have non-T-Mobile branded phones, often purchased overseas.
If I was going to be using this phone permanently, I'd run the Seem Edit and disable the notification, but I move back and forth, and it works fine in India. So I'll just deal with it. But it seems like Motorola or T-Mobile ought to come out with a software patch to fix it so that their customers don't have to hack their phone's hex codes!
Any workaround? A was to restrict calls and send directly to voicemail?
Menu>Settings>Security>Restrict Calls
Hope that helps.

Dear Knowledgeable People of the World:
Please help me with the funky _@ text message!
If someone could give a step by step detail to getting rid of the nuisance text- I would be eternally grateful!!! I have a Motorola L6 (and service w/T-mobile, but not a T-Mobile phone, and T-mobile gave me the same run around as Warren, pointless technical support!
~Thank you very much for your support!!!~

Did you get charged every time you received those texts or was it just a nuisance?
