I used Seemplayer to stop my phone from doing the same thing, and it worked. There's a function in Seemplayer, once you open your 0032 seem, under the "Unknown" category, you can select to have that little annoying text message stop coming up. Haven't had any side effects from it either...

These seem edits are the solution. You need to restart the phone after doing the edit.
If it doesn't work you did it wrong.
SEEM 0032_0001
offset 02 -
Do this first
bit 4: ^@ and _@ VM Indicator SMS Msgs (1 off, 0 on) (**DOES NOT WORK RELIABLY**)
If you still have a problem do this one
bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features) some of these features may be SIM dependant anyway, so activating it on your phone may not actually allow you to use it

Guys, I do not have the Call Barring option under Settings/Security. I'm using T-Mobile in the US. Is this normal?

It doesn't work well on V3 anyway - it needs network support so you can turn it on with seem edits - but it probably will do nothing
