I have ran into some problems with my Verizonwireless account.
I started a contract in January of 2005. In May, I believe I added a second line so that my friend could keep his phone. I paid $100 a month for two lines to share 1000 minutes, and both have unlimited TXT messaging. It worked out awesome for several months. I only had to pay $50 of the bill each month. We never went over anything like that.
Well as friends go I found that my buddy was not my buddy. He decided to get his own phone, and leave me out to dry.
So now I pay $100 per month to have two phones and way more minutes than I ever use.
The only way out is to pay $175 to get rid of the second line, but I cannot come up with that ****!
Anyway, I read through the customer agreement, there has to be more to it. There is no way out for the customer, other than paying the termination fee. It actually states that you have to pay up to $175. Is there any way I can do it by paying less than $175? Even $50? Or nothing at all would be great.
I tried pleading my case to the customer service rep, but they are drones...

There is another way to get out of your contract. First of all you would need to find a friend or family member that wants a phone. Then you could do a COR (change of responsibility). This would put the phone in their name and get your name off of the contract. The problem is that you need to find someone that is willing to take over your account? Good Luck.

..otherwise, if you don't have someone to take over the responsibility, you have no other choice.
Bluntly, that's why there is a contract and why a phone likely to cost several hundred dollars was much cheaper. If the ETF was not a punishment to break a contract (meaning that it would be cheaper), people would break them very often.
Sorry..

If you would like to save the monthly fee for the second line you could do so by suspending the second line for free for one month and 30 bucks for up to three months without the 175 buck penalty. I had to do that when the person using my second line continued to abuse it and go over minutes. I don't know if this will work for your situation but I'd check into it to save a little cash temporarily.

Just so you know... The first type of suspension described above, is an available option only when a phone is reported lost or stolen... the second type is a voluntary suspension, where the normal monthly service fee, is replaced by a $10 USD number reservation charge. If you are paying $9.99 USD for the secondary line, the voluntary suspension will actually cost a penny more, per month.
Of greatest significance, under either scenario, your contract is extended for a period of time equal to the length of the suspension. Neither is a method to lessen the financial responsibility when looking to terminate a contract early. The most feasible option is the name change, previously described.

Are you frustrated that you cannot download any content on your mobile phone if VERIZON doesn't own it? Does paying $9.99 per month vs. paying $15 sound better for you to pay for the same amount of songs or ringtones you can download?Tell me about it.. I need your input on how angry it makes you to not be able to access cheaper ringtones, games, and graphics from other companies such as BLUE FROG MOBILE... Which, BTW you can download like 10 songs for less that 10 cents each....
LET ME KNOW: I NEED YOUR INPUT ASAP!!!! IF YOU HAVE A VERIZON PHONE IT IS MANDATORY YOU EMAIL ME... **thanks!**
