If the File Manager of PC Suite show the error "Operation could not be completed", press the Windows "Start", choose "Run" and copy&paste the following

Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

You should get a response by Windows.

After this everthing should work fine.

I tried your post and instead of getting a "operation could not be completed" message the infrared just disconnects.

I can synchronize and transfer files from my phone to my pc but cannot transfer files from my pc to my phone.

I either get disconnected when trying to transfer via pc suite or that the remote host is blocked if trying via "transfer to another computer" icon and drag & drop method.

any suggestions?

Ok I tried this and got the windows response message saying it worked. Maybe that wasn't the only problem with mine? But even after following the above instruction, I still get the "Operation could not be completed" message when clicking on the file manager. I've got the DKU-5 data cable and the drivers are installed, and according to the device manager it's there and working properly. PC Suite was working properly with the version from a few weeks ago, but now it will not detect a connected phone after updating to the newer version. Version 6.80.2 would not install properly then a few days later they came out with an updated version 6.80.21 in an effort to fix it. It looks installed but maybe something is still wrong with the program. When I try to run the Get Connected Wizard, there is a message, "There is no available connection type and therefore connection to the phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit." Then the message appears "Failed to detect available connection types! Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite." If I click on "manage connections", another message appears: "Connection to Nokia PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. (Code:InitIMediaControl2). Reinstalling it does not correct the problem, and the same messages still appear. I have tried totally uninstalling and removing all Nokia from my computer, then reinstalling, and also tried the Nokia registry cleaner, but haven't had any luck. So I'm thinking there must be something still wrong with the current version of Nokia PC Suite. Is anybody else having this problem?

Which Phone?
Original or replica cable?

The phone models are my Nokia 3100b and my brother's 3120, which is almost the same phone. The DKU-5 cable was an original Nokia product, which I've been using for a couple years now. On the phone itself it says "data enhancement connected" when I plug it in, so I'm thinking the cable is still good. But based on what's happening above I'm thinking that the recently installed Nokia PC Suite version might be missing something in the programming. That's my guess, though I could be wrong. Maybe they'll come out with another version soon to correct it, if that is the case.

My best guess would be that something got mixed up while updating.
Do you really have removed everything manually from Nokia from your computer?
