Of course I am pissed as all get out but would like another opinion. Please comment!
I have been with T-Mobile over 5 years and when we decided to move from Phonix to Tulsa I was happy to learn that I could get a phone with a Tulsa # at the Phoenix store. I needed the Tulsa # before we actually made the move because we were in the middle of closing on the new house BUT the Tulsa Yellow pages had a deadline that I had to meet for my business listing. Wow T-mobile is awesome, I thought. I submitted my phone number to The Yellow Pages and the phone books were delivered in November. About the same time I gave my cell phone number to someone locally to call me. I ran into her a few days later and she said " Your phone is not working" She said she got a wierd message about dialing 1. That seemed strange to me as we both have the same area code (918) To make a long story short I did alot of research and discovered that T-Mobile has given me a Bartlesville, OK phone #. This is far from Tulsa- thus the dial 1 message( no charge though)
I have this phone number linked to a yellow page add at $150 per month. I also have spent $300 on cards, forms, etc.. with this number. I am also paying for the phone. All of this is ruined now because anyone in Tulsa is unable( or finds the message too confusing) to call me. It is obvious to me that I will not get any business calls on this phone.
T-Mobile reps have said that, yes the person who gave me the # should have looked at the list closer. The way it was explained to me is that when I requested Tulsa a screen came up with all the areas in the 918 code. Bartlesville is the first one and that is what they gave me. They admitted if the rep had scrolled down they would have seen Tulsa Metro in the Tulsa category- Which is what I asked for. They have offered me 2 months free service on 1 of my phones ( I have 2 with them) Basically $100 credit
What do you think??

thanks for your advice. I got the offer I mentioned above from the 3rd level person I talked to. At least I assume it was as I asked each person I spoke to for their supervisor. I am just so disapointed. The 3rd rep told me that she was very sorry but could not be responsible for my business costs. I think I am going to have to cancel my service- even if I pay more somewhere else. More of the principal of the thing

to be honest, and i am sorry that happened, but im supprised they offered that amount to you, you must be talking to the saves team? Customer care never gives out that kind of good will to a customer. I would honestly take the offer, they are trying to make good on a simple error.

First off no no no no no no no no no no no gosh you are so stupid. Second just because its 25 miles apart doesn't mean that it is not long distance. The next city over is 15 miles away from my base and it is a long distance phone call. Same area code. Get your facts straight Bcagle3, instead of making comments just to see your name on the thread.

"The 3rd rep told me that she was very sorry but could not be responsible for my business costs. I think I am going to have to cancel my service- even if I pay more somewhere else. More of the principal of the thing"

Principle, Scminciple. If they can straighten it out, that's the route you should go. It's a LOT simpler and cost-effective. You are in business, right? Then you have to know that EACH AND EVERY contract on Earth has a stipulation that reads to the effect of "We'll be responsible for fixing your problem, but we can't be responsible for costs incurred as a result of our alledged negligence". Each and every one. Sometimes a vendor will make an exception duer to circumstances, but they are not at all obligated to reimburse you for losses indirectly caused by their actions. And any, I say, ANY phone carrier you go to will have that exact same stipulation. If you're majorly pissed off, then change just to make yourself happy. But considering your previous experience, it makes better business sense (the best kind, but the kind we all hate) to remain with TM if they'll solve your problem.

And JGolfer81, your 7-year-old tantrum at someone that (you claim) made a mistake is no better than the erroneous info you're ranting about. Try this.

"Bcagle3, please check your facts. The facts as you present them are incorrect based on the fact that I have in my hand." Now what is wrong with that? Not ranty enough would be my guess.

Geez, what happened to civility and maturity.DAMMIT!.icon_surprised.gif)

Gerio thanks for the belittling. however I was making a point. I am new to this site and my FIRST post was an honest question to which I did not know the answer too. SO I decided to become a member and try and get an answer.

Bcagle3 responded this way to my post

no no no no no no no no no no no don't waste time money or breath on this issue it will never happen Jesus h Christ enough already you ppl are so dumb

Now I am not quite sure what kind of operation this is, but I will be damned if I get treated like that again.
