I want to stick with Tmobile but also want the Treo 650...it only seems to be available for Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint...can I just get a Cingular Treo and put my Tmobile SIM card in and be good to go...unlocked phones are soooo expensive. Please help!

If its from any carrier other than tmobile, it has to be unlocked. If it is unlocked it will work with tmobile. Add tmobile internet, and I'm not sure if there is anything else that has to be done on a treo before it can be used.

Thanks, mpapple10...
all the unlocked 650's are over $400 on ebay - but I have seen deals for cingular treo 650's for like $250.
From what you say, I should be able to by the Cingular...then get it unlocked it for a $40 fee...then just put in my Tmobile SIM card, right?
Thanks!

I believe if you buy from cingular you will be under contract fron cingular at the 250 price level.. Also, who is unlocking it for a $40 fee?

I think I found it on Craigslist in NYC...just passing by. (the unlocking for $40 thing). I appreciate all of your info...and you are right, if i buy at the lower price from Cingular, I am stuck with their crappy reception for 2 years at $45 a month. It is not worth saving the $200 bucks on the treo. I think I will look at the models on ebay...
please let me know if you have any further advice. thanks.
