I have a new Dilemna! I deleted all of the original .mp3 files (remedy, jazz, etc.) I am able to download music to my phone, and I USED to be able to select the songs as my ringer. Then I accidentally set my ringer as a default tone. Now I cannot set an .mp3 song as my ringer!!! I pick the grayed out song and click select and save but it will no longer work. I think that I have to be able to select a file like Remedy first before I can pick a gray song that I downloaded. ANY HELP PLEASE!!!

I have followed all the instructions from this forum and can set an mp3 as a ringtone but then the ringtone makes no sound. It shows the file set as a ringtone and even scrolls across the screen, but no sound.
When I go to select the mp3 as a ringtone it plays the mp3 fine. I do the select, back save method and it show the mp3 as the new ringtone but does not generate any sound.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks in advance
SkiVT
I can get 3gp files to work as a ringtone.

When I set my USB setting to Mass Storage, it disconnects from phone from the PC. Whats up with that? Is the PC connected to the Memory card only in that mode?

if you want it sent to the phone's memory then make sure the usb setting is set to Modem.
if you want it sent to your memory card make sure it is set to Mass storage.
so in conclusion set it at mass storage, send your 3gp to other files folder on the card, then go into the cards memory and go to other files folder and open it, you should find the 3gp file in there and you can go to that file's options and should be able to send to phone. once you send to phone you can go into your phone book and set it as someones ringtone. |

are you using the samsung program? if so the program will only work if the phone is set on modem
but if you have it at mass storage it will just show up under my computer as another storage device.

I bought the t809 in July and am still having problems setting mp3's as ringtones. I've argued with tmobile customer service and samsung customer service for hours on end with no resolution. I finally read a post about selecting the grey'd out song and then hitting save and was able to set the main ringtone for the phone. My question is how do you set personal ringtones for individuals in your phonebook? I've tried just about everything I can think of and have gotten nowhere. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!!

ashbabash did you read the many post about mp3s and 3gp. If you read thru all of these post, you will find how to make a mp3 a 3gp file and how to put it in your phone. Once your 3gp is set in the phone, you could do anything you want with it. I worked for me. So find those post in here.

I know something is obviously wrong, because its not working... that's why I'm asking for help. Is there a specific program I am supposed to use to comvert the files from mp3's to 3gp's??? That's the only thing I can think of.
