Is there a URL for the AT&T wireless coverage area? Since it is not identical to the Cingular area - yet, a map of it has to exist somewhere. Thanks

Because I never had an online account with AT&T, I can't open one with Cingular. As soon as I input my phone number it is identified as an AT&T account. The prompts then ask me for information that AT&T never required I provide - so the info is not in the system. I get error messages about missing data and access codes I never had. There is no way for me to create a new acount - yet.
Cingular prepaid is far more invasive than AT&T prepaid. AT&T understood that prepaid meant you paid and as long as you kept the payments current you were entitled to service. Cingular wants social, credit and everything else it can get its hands on so that they can feel divine ownership of the service.
In short, I can't access my account online via Cingular and I can't create an acount with AT&T.

I realize that this topic seems to have died, but I did find links to the old AT&T maps which still appear to be online. Now of course, these are no longer completely acurate, since the merger has messed up so many things, etc., but they should give you a general idea.
This has all of the old maps, TDMA, GSM, prepaid, etc. ENJOY!

I know this is kinda late, but ATT now uses the same coverage maps as Cingular. Go to this site.. www.geocities.com/cingularinfo click on rate plans and coverage and you'll see the most up to date map available.
It doesn't require you to sign in, etc. Just follow the links

Yes they are using the same GSM coverage maps now, but all you can see is the big national map.
Silly Cing don't provide "up close" maps like AT&T WS did.
Besides that, Cing dosn't provide any info on the legacy TDMA system , so the link that I found at least gives those ppl, such as myself at least a general idea of where we can still get service. Even if the towers are being taken off line one by one, and then all at once in 2008.
I maintain the site that i gave the link for.. If needed, I have access to specific areas, both gsm and tdma, for attws and cingular.. If anyone needs a specific coverage area (a town or city) let me know and i'll email it to you.
By the way Flyer feel free to use my site everything on it is current.

My husband and I will be leaving for Salt Lake City in two weeks, will rent a car and drive to Jackson, the Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park. We'll then be driving to Bigfork, MT, Missoula, MT, Challis, Idaho, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Idaho Falls. Will we have Cingular coverage in all these areas? If not, which ones in particular can we expect to be able to use our phone. We have the Samsung C417, if that makes any difference.
