Does anyone know how to send a fax using the V3 connected to a computer via the USB cable. Using Microsoft Fax Console, the "Motorola USB Modem" appears in the configuration setup and everthing seems to be set properly. However, when sending a fax, I see the "Calling XXX-XXX-XXXX" appear on the V3's screen, but the call does not go thru...just three beeps.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for the info. According to Motorola, WinFax software is supposed to work with the USB, but I'm not willing to plunk down the cash for WinFax just to test out that claim. A sales rep from BVRP told me Motorola had them remove the fax feature from MPT because is was not working properly. Oh well...

I can not get my Razr to fax either..
useing MS Fax, & Word
However I do have it all set up through Cable & bluetooth..
When I go to [SEND].. my phone lights up, dials the #
and within 1/2 second it Disconnects.. not
giving anytime for the recieving fax/ph to answer....
i've tried adding commas &/or periods to the fax number
in an attempt to prelong it's connection hoping a fax tone might
keep it connected... no luck..
I've looked for updated motorola usb fax drivers.. no luck
any suggestions ?

Faxing thru a Motorola RAZR V3 cellphone
Whether using BVRP Classic Phone Tools or installed WinFax Pro v10, I get the same behavior, soon after the fax dialing starts it disconnects.
BVRP Software - Download Patch (not much here)
In Classic Phone Tools when "change modem" is reselected and stepping thru the "Device Configuration Wizard" shoiws that the ATI9 command to the modem fails during device detection, perhaps this is no issue. Whereas WinFax Pro 10 reports a summary "This modem supports Fax, Data" "This a class 1 fax modem" "Max fax transmit speed: 9600 bps"... for the same hardware setup (V3 connected via USB cable or BT)
"Device Configuration Wizard" "Model selection" screen Motorola manufacturer lists only 2 Device model "Motorola SM56 Fax modem" and "Dell V.90 56k modem". How to get additional models listed here?? like V3?
Finally for those COMM/Modem gurus is there any hidden/ or some buried advanced tab that change the timeout value cause it to drop line. Note manual dialing give me the fax carrier for as long as I want .
Please post if you have any solutions or now how to display more Motorola models in the screen above
Thank you
Maria

I am having the same problem. The call seems to begin dialing and disconnect almost immediately.

Did anyone ever get this to work? I can get the RAZR setup as a modem, but when I try to send a fax with it, it just dials out over and over without completing the call. The fax monitor says that the line is busy, but this is what ends up in the modem log on WinXP each time:
Who is your carrier I suspect you need CSD enabled as with using the phone as a dial up modem. Cingular require additional payments to enable this feature (I think $5.99 per month) if the advisor you are speaking to does not know what you are talking about hang up and try again
