It shouldn't be terribly difficult to get music on your ROKR. You need to have the itunes disc that came with the phone. The CSR at Cingular who sold me my phone said that if i was using itunes prior to buying the phone that I should uninstall it and install the one off the disc that came with the phone.

Second when you have the itunes up an running you need to make a cell phone playlist. Load the MP3's into the playlist in the order you want to hear them. When you're done building the playlist connect the phone to the cable which is plugged into a USB port on your computer. Then when it's connected and you see your cell phone on the list of devices to the left of the itunes screen, drag the folder for the playlist you made right onto the icon that says it's your cell phone. It should begin dl'ing at this point. BE PATIENT. It takes a long time.

Hope this helps...Lemme know if it doesn't. Keep heart the ROKR is a great phone....

Thank you for your advice. I got it to work, but I hooked up the phone BEFORE I fired up itunes (and itunes cd didn't come with the phone...no disc did) and it detected it no problem (with a previous install of itunes that came with Quicktime). I transferred the songs easily. No problem.

Here's the only problem I need to solve. I can't save (backup) the games from the ROKR. I wish I knew how. I bring up the kjava folder in MY COMPUTER and nothing is listed. Since NO P2K programs work with it and the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools (MPT) doesn't bring up the KJAVA folder or the files in that folder....I dunno how to back them up. ANY idea's?????

I got that solved. All of my problems are solved with the ROKR. EVERYTHING is figured out! I can now:

1.) Save Games From The ROKR
2.) Install Games To The ROKR
3.) Install MP3 Audio Files For Ringtones
4.) Install MP3 Songs In iTunes
5.) Install Wallpapers
6.) Transfer Files Like Pictures Taken And Such.

Man, am I a happy camper! icon_w00t.gif icon_w00t.gif icon_w00t.gif icon_w00t.gif icon_w00t.gif icon_w00t.gif

Oh yes! The ROKR is da BOMB! I worked my TAIL OFF to find out ALL the loop holes and I've done it. I'm thinking about making a post on www.motomodders.net as a COMPLETE (in stereo) directions on how to do EVERY little thing that I described above and what programs to do it with. What do you think?

Yeah, my Daughter got the ROKR...and I WAS going to go with the v635, due to it being a 'Vxxx' series phone (but should work very well with all the tools) but with the proper motivation, I've now got a complete set of directions (would have to put it all together for one post) on how to do EVERYTHING you could possibly want...except skins....I need to work on that one too and see if one of the many programs I use would do that. So, I'm going to DEFINITELY buy the ROKR over the v635! OH YEAH! icon_smile.gif I'm SOOO jazzed!

Ya know what? I wish I were a programmer. I would make ONE program that would do it ALL for phones like the ROKR, Razor/v551/v400, v635 and such and so fourth...even if it took making a seperate program for each model (like Motorola did for their USB Handset Manager...but that STILL didn't do everything...but there's a different program for each model). I would actually pay for that program. $30 for EACH model of phone you want to mod (that does it ALL) would be MORE than worth it!

What you might need to do is go into SETTINGS then CONNECTION then all the way to the right to USB SETTINGS and set it to DATA/FAX CONNECTION....just for what you are doing. DO NOT forget to turn it back to MEMORY CARD after you are done. Lemme know how it goes.

Dreamer.....My Saviour !!!

Do you know how to program the lights? The event lights are set, but I want to program the colors myself. Example...The lights flash green when you're charging, but I'd like to see them flash blue or pruple. Do you know anything about that? That's my next conquest for the ROKR.

Dude you rule

I think you need to connect it and use it with MPT and transfer the ringtone seperately for that, as there are two different storage methods on the ROKR...the internal and the sandisc memory card. Dunno of any way to transfer directly from the card to the internal....so just use MPT or something simular.
