I'm curious of the Motorola ROKR will work with MPT (Motorola Mobile Phone Tools) as well as Midway and the other programs we all use??? Please share your thoughts or better yet...your EXPERIENCE with this matter.

Well, I WILL be playing mp3 quite frequently.....so why the ROKR in that case? I mean, I like the playlist ability in itunes....but doesn't the v635 have a playlist (or at least play front to back like a regular mp3 player)?

It depends on what features you want dreamer. the ROKR is a very good phone. I have had it for a week now and have found no real flaws. I like having music with me all the time. One prob is that it's so new that no one really knows how to hack it and make mods. This will change very soon I'm sure. The built in speakers are remarkable. The speakerphone is great. Hell, I even like the lights. Some downsides are the USB is USB 1 which slows download time. Also, the camera is mediocre at best but unless you're Ansel Adams it's adequate. It's a bit hinkey to set up and has some little insignificant bugs which are intermittent and work theselves out. Hope this helps.......

I got the ROKR, thinking I could use all those appz with it, but it won't. First off, I loaded the JAVA APP LOADER. That went fine, but when I go to activate it, it gives the msg "Some file and applications will not be accessible" and hangs at the INSERT CABLE NOW screen. It won't accept the cable, and I've used two cables...one I got off of E-Bay and the one that came with the ROKR.

Not to mention that P2KTools & P2KCommander does NOT work with the ROKR. I'm concerned here. Please help.

Yeah well, I'm sorry your phone isn't working. As with all electronics, some might be lemmons. I'm just saying mine works really well. I have a problem with itunes locking up my system during downloads, but if I just walk away from my computer once the playlist starts downloading it's never a bother. I never had problems with aplets loading or hanging up while loading. There is an error message that pops up when I start to download, but I ignore it and do it anyways. MPT DOES work with this phone just so ya know...

Unfortunately, it won't work with P2K of any kind. That sux. My Daughter bought a ROKR, and I can't get games off of it or on it without going thru Cingular. It won't work with the JAVA APP LOADER. I got the loader installed, yet when I activate it and it says "INSERT CABLE NOW", I do so, and the first thing that pops up is: "SOME FILES AND APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE" then it just hangs at "INSERT CABLE NOW".

I can't get any games to save or load on the ROKR. I should have had her go with the v635. I am having a hard time finding out how to get MP3 to load up on it. I understand I have to use Itunes....but I don't know how to get it from my itunes on my computer to my ROKR. I can add files to my ITUNES on my pc...but can't figure out how to SYNC with my ROKR. I'm sure that will just take time to learn....what the piss off is, is with the java games. I am HEAVILY disappointed.
