I downloaded a ringtone from cingular.com today with the intention of giving it to a friend as a suprise christmas gift. To my suprise, I noticed when I went to test it before I met with him that it was locked and would not allow me to send it to another phone through bluetooth. Is there any way around this? I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with this.
Thanks!
P.S. I have a razor v3 and he has a v551

you need to install PST and use MK2Man in order to copy the locked ringtone to ure computer ...then you can delete the ringtone via MK2man ...then you will be able to transfer the mp3 or ringtone to ure phone via MPT ...and the ringtone will not be locked.

well, I did what you said. I copied the ring tone to my computer, deleted it from my phone, and then put the file back on to my phone all through P2KMan and now when I try to go to Settings>Audio>Loud Detail it sends me back to the Audio screen under settings. It's like there isn't a Loud Detail folder on my phone any more but all the files still show on P2KMan. What did I do wrong?
**Edit** Never mind. I read the tutorial and did what it said to fix the menu bug and it worked. Thanks for the help. It works great now.
hmm... now a new problem. The ring tones are now unlocked, but I keep getting a "Transfer failed: connection interrupted" when I try to send them across bluetooth to another phone. I'm wondering if I need to change the attributes for these files in order for that to work.
**Edit** lol I keep answering my own questions. The original file name was "WakeUp.09^.mp3" and it was the "^" that was causing the file transfer to be aborted. The simple fix for this was to rename the file without the "^" and it now works like a charm.

Assuming you can change the file name to remove the "^" you could avoid deleting and reuploading the file, but I think you have to uncheck the System Attribute.
A new program to my ears is this Mk2man but I know you can look at some of the P2k platform programs we commonly use amongst the board, try here, http://motoaide.com:8081

all good stuff
however i hope u figured out that once u have copied a ringtone via p2kman u can then rename it on ure computer and upload it via MPT lite (mobile phone tools) which is easier than putting ringtones on ure phone via p2kman (i only use p2kman for locked files) once their on ure computer and u put them back on ure phone via MPT their unlocked.
hmmm maybe unchecking the system attributes unlocks the ringtone ? if this is the case then no transfer is needed to rename ......
if the file remains locked then its impossible to rename or send or backup without m2kman... none that i know of anyway.
i must check out that link of urs soon moderator

Change attribute to 00 (last 2 digit) then you can do anything with it

Almost anything...that "^" on the filename will not allow to transfer through BT, just ensure thats not on the file. The "^" doesn't show up on the phones view, you have to see it through p2kprog or dl to computer. At least thats the experience I've come across here.
