in my opinion u should get an IrDA. it's juust more versatile, if u decide to get a new phone at least u wont get stuck wif a cable that will no longer hav use for u (who knows Nokia might bring out somthin new & with a diff serial cable... not funnny ai). most phones r fitted with IR now anyways. Hope it's helped to answer ur Q.

actually, I don't have 6610
just go to nokiausa.com, and dl pc suite for 6610
see if it helps

I have 3650, and pc suite lets me upload any pic from host (pc) to phone

just incase you didnt know, nokia doesn't have an official serial cable that is supported by nokia suite for newer pop-port phones. so you're just left with irda or the usb cable from nokia.

im my opionion, id get the irda cable, more versatile, and you can use it for newer phones when you decide to change your current fone. im using irda and it works a treat! icon_biggrin.gif

If you want to do this for wihtout spending money on a data cable, here is how. This refers to Ringtones and logos specifically, not games.

If you mobile operator has a website where you can access your account and send SMS / MMS. Just go there and send an MMS to yourself with the logo or ringtone as an attachment. Tthen when you get it, just save the item into your folders.

Worked great for me...

go for irDA.. Why? In future u can still used the irDA device, If you're a user from nokia 3210, u can't use the cable on the nokia 6610. Because the new interface on the cable (DKU-5 cable) on 6610 not the same on 3210
