Hi, I just purchased a 9800, love it! My only problem is I know its an mp3 player and I have yet to use it because the user manual somehow decided to omit that chapter. I bought a mini sd card and downloaded a few songs to it, but when I plug the card into my phone it still reads no mp3s found? If anyone knows what steps I need to take to use the mp3 player, it would be gladly appreciated.
Thanks

If you see directories when in SD reader like
My FLIX
My Sounds
My PIX
My MP3
then put the MP3 in MY MP3
eject and re insert in phone
Right arrow
1 Get Tunes and Tones
3 My MP3
Choose the MP3 and enjoy

yep put the car in your phone and format it...then take it out and put it in your computer..you will see the phones folders..\
put the songs in the mp3 folder..also make sure the song names are shoter than 43charcters or the Mp3 will not show up. Dont as why, just trust me.

I must be doing something wrong? I just formatted my card, downloaded a song and saved it in the My Mp3 folder on the card. When I plug the card into the pc and look in the folder the song is there and plays fine, when I plug the card into my phone the phone lights up, but when I look in the My mp3 folder when the card is in the phone it is still reading, No Songs Found?

Once you have the songs in your card you need to download a WMA to MP3 converter. I used this one---> Advanced WMA Workshop 2.1HOT http://www.wma-mp3.com/
Get into the program...then get into the songs in your card and convert them to MP3. It's very simple once your in the program. It probably sounds complicated but once you download it you should be able to figure it out.
Let me know how you do.....
I LOVE THIS PHONE EVEN MORE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the solution by cableguy, but, again, this is a windows based solution. I am using a Mac, and was told by the lovely salesperson that I could use mp3's from ITunes on a Mac. It does not work. The mp3's look ok on the card, but when I insert the card into the phone, each mp3 is duplicated, with "._" before the duplicate, and these will not play, and the player hangs up when it gets to one of these. Ditto problem with VCast music, since it requires Windows Media Player 10.0. Is there any solution regarding Mac. I have looked at purchasing Virtual PC 7.0, but have heard many arguements against it. Besides, since I was told by Verizon that it would work, maybe they should pay for it. Thanks for any thoughts.
