This phone has been out of service for sometime. It was in service with AT&T and has an AT&T SIM card. I asked Cingular if there was a way to activate it in their network. There answer was just throw the phone away and buy a new one. Are they just trying to generate new sales or is this really true?
Thanks!

Thee 8595 is a phone I can find absolutely no informations about...
What do you plan with Cingular? Contract or Prepaid/Pay as you go?
If you plan to get a contract you should check for a free phone.
And for prepaid/pay as you go you've gotta contact AT&T for unlocking the phone.
But as I said: since I can't find any information about the phone, I can't tell exactly what to do.

I thought maybe I was just dense because I couldn't find much about either. It does have an AT&T SIM in it and was previously used on the AT&T network before Cingular. I finally got Cingular to tell me if I unlock the phone, they can then add it to their network. It is "against policy" to unlock or tell customers how to unlock phones. Therefore, it is just another way they are utilizing to sell more.
I did find one web site that said they could unlock the 8595. Does anyone have any experience with or suggestions about this?
Thanks!

You are correct. It is a 3595. Typo on my part. I have gotten it unlocked already.
Thanks!
