just had a call from a lady in brooklyn. long story short, she needed to activate a new line of service with a new cingular GSM account. called telesales and rep was about to have me bring her over when she told me couldn't do it. why? because the customer lived in a high-risk zone and cingular will not deliver there!
a neighborhood must be pretty bad for cingular not to deliver to it...she had to go to a local store.

I love it when I as a customer am calling about a problem for the third or 4th time, and the csr's are reading all the notes made by the previous csr people and each one afterwards types that the previous csr was wrong.
(I had this problem trying to switch over my ISP thru my cable company. that must have been 12 calls I made to the 3 parties involved with the latest call last night after AOL, and my cable company were each charging me for the same service.)

Oh, I agree with you too. That lady who lied deserved to be burned by the notes. I'm just saying how good the notes are for both sides. When they saw how much of a problem I was having they tried even harder to get it resolved.

i had a customer call in today just to ask me what song is played in a specific cingular commercial where "people are like, doing stuff, and there's like black guys singing the song...". i can't believe this person waited in the evening time queue to ask me this question. well i didn't know the answer so we ended the conversation but she wanted me to transfer her to someone who knew the answer, i was like, ummm, ask a friend or something.
people are morons.

I work in a radioshack, so we have the great benifit of both working with the plan, seeing people face to face, and also having the phone in our hands.
This couple came in and started talking to one of my coworkers. Apparently they had bought phone from us, it wasn't working, so they wanted us to replace it. I take interest, because they start yelling at my coworker. The phone has obvious water damage, judgeing my the water under the screen, and the grass behind the battery. I ask for a recipe, there isn't one. They then change their story, and say that they want their money back. I ask why, and they said that the phone was junk. Obviously, but not our fault I think, I tell them that they're out of luck. Then they get ticked, and say that we should give them credit at the very least so that they can buy a new phone from Target. Yeah, like we'll give you a gift card for ... Target? Ha.

A classic one -
Customer comes in and asks for a new phone. Yes they have service already. I tell them that a new phone costs 200 dollars and up. They insist that they got the phone for free, why can't we give them another one for free? The phone costs money I tell them, the service provider gives you a deal for service, but if you destroy the phone, it's your problem. That doesn't go over well.

Customer says their bill is 300 dollars, what happened? They say that they have unlimited internet.
Without access to their account information, you have to make sure to pump them for as much infromation as you can.
After a quick check of their phone, and a final call to customer service, it turns out they downloaded every type of media, and tv service. I explain, that when it says "this will cost 9.99 a month" it actually means that!
