easy answer to that call is
you paid for service to the date of migration...
point out where the service stop date is on the invoice...
with orange on the line have them point out where the service start date is...
I have repeated this procedure several times...works like a charm...
*sometimes* the caller thinks the right hand will not talk to the left and is trying to pull something...most often when I point out the service dates it falls into line

dude! the orange rep was on the line also and the cust had the bill in his hand. I was saying "see, it was charged 'till the 16th when your billing cycle ended on the 24th." I thought after awhile he just didn't want to admit his mistake, but he was so adament about it, even with myself and the orange rep explaining dates. I said "see, you weren't charged the 74.99, you were charged 56.XX" and he still was saying we double-charged him!
my favorite line from him was...
"I will light my fire...(pause)...I will light my fire."

I mean seriously where do some of these people get off? had a fella last nite try to escalate because i let slip the ol zed. the guy freaked. Im all 'Yes sir I am from canada sir, Yes sir I know in America its pronounced Zee, yes sir and again i apologize for the mix up, I understand sir hate canadians, yes sir. My supervisor sir? well if indeed you feel its nescessary *shrug* -place him on hold- line dropped. called him back as per policy, yelled into the phone "STOP HARRASSING ME CANADIAN!!!"

In all fairness, "zed" sounds more educated than "zee," and it's harder to confuse "c" with "z" when you say "zed." So keep at it. (Dumb Americans.)

I always tell people i'm in nova scotia. I usually get 1 of two responses...
1. uh...yeah...nova scotia...what state is that in.
2. canada? i love canada!
i don't think i've ever had anyone get mad. two people have guessed i was canadian twice.
