This is the first time i have used this but the funny stories provoked me to tell some of my own. Now i have been in Resolutions, Care and, Customer Relations for my center and i have seen some funny happenings. Here are a few: icon_biggrin.gif Average cst ci to dispute his parents bill, esc to a friend of mine and is really unsure but very upset b/c he has been felt home alone for the last few months with his parents in Europe somewhere. Ofcourse they have left all the bills in there sons capable hands... HEHE so my buddie gets the call and does the normal the charges are vaild yada.. yada. When she looks at the billing finds that there is a past due of a few cents .... somewhat normal right?? icon_confused.gif Well she got into the bill and low and behold there is a bill for $55,000!!!!!!!!!! No reason the kid was freaking out. Apparently the parents thought that they could take there phones with them to India and use them as normal (this happens alot i'm sure we all know but not in this magnatude!) So the kid fights it up the ladder for his parents and in the end all was well with MR. Sigmen decides that for the ignorence of these consumers and ofcourse to show good jesture credits off 50% of the charges mind you thats still approx 25 G's!!!

Ok this happend to a very good friend of mine that i had to share b/c he wont. Cst calls in and freaks out b/c he has a 'problem' he wont talk to an agent so he esc to rez. My friend gets it and asks the normal questions what was the problem? and how could we fix it? And ofourse the cst gives his speal and at the end says that his bill is to high and that he didn't use the phone that much. So my buddies has ok well will look it over and and probs somemore and the cst says "Man my bill came to me and i had to sign for it from Fedex!!! Why? Turns out cst was double and triple billed for usage, so we had to send his bill in a Fedex box so that he would get the whole thing!!! Ofcourse the error was fixed and the cst was happy at the end of the call ..... But that would have been a shock in a half to have to sign for her cell bill icon_lol.gif

a kid calls in with a prepaid phone, which i'm sure is stolen. he said he has a card, and it said to call 611 to add minutes, but it wouldn't let him. the number he gave me does not exist as a wireless or landline #. so i ask him who is service provider is...

"it's with y'all, uh, 611"

"your service provider is 611?"

"yeah"

"there's is no such service provider"

"oh, can you add minutes to my phone?"

I was actually on the call for about 5 minutes. fairly amusing.

Customer calls up (she seems like she was in her late 30's), and the moment I try to speak, she's frantically screaming...

- "OMG, I'm going to die!"

- "Are you alright ma'am, is there anything I can do?"

- "No. My phone's about to blow up!" (that's when I was like WTF...)

- "Ma'am, is there a reason why you think the phone is going to blow up?"

- "I need help, now."

- "Ma'am, first I need you to calm down."

- "ok."

- "Alright. What makes you think the phone is going to blow up?"

- "Well, I just got off the phone with you guys, and the other rep told me that if I had an unlocked phone and kept switching sim cards...it would fry or maybe blow up."

- "Hold on ma'am (I put myself on mute cause I started to laugh). Now ma'am, you were misinformed by that other rep. There is nothing to worry about."

- "Are you lying to me, because I know you guys like to say whatever just to get us off the air." (put myself on mute again)

- "No ma'am, I swear to you I am not lying."

- "Oh dear God, thank you, thank you so much. I thought I was in danger because I'm using the phone right now talking to you." *click*

After that I started busting out laughing...that was a knee slapper. Apparently, some other rep before me (who probably works just for the hell of it) decided to try and be a smart ass and try that line with that lady.

i hear a lot of rep telling customers the "dangers" of unlocked phones. I think many reps don't really understand exactly what an unlocked phone is.

one guy i know left his phone lying around, so a couple of my coworkers were checking it out. it was an audiovox but had no carrier logo on the outside. since they couldn't figure which provider he was with, one of them said "maybe it's an unlocked phone." I was think "da heck?" but i didn't feel like explaining it.

Had a customer call me at 1:45AM to rant at me for 45min about how the FCC is coming after him for trying to take down Cingular and how his family is in danger of being killed by the FCC. After the call i sat in ACW for 10 minutes in hysterical laughter until 2:40AM.

But seriously, the FCC WILL NOT kill you.

The FCC killed my dog. icon_sad.gif

So I'm working Customer Advocacy, res desk, escalations. Whatever you want to call it, and I'm sitting in the regular area for customer care reps when one of my friends, taking regular calls, turns to me and starts ranting about this call that he's on.

The woman, she's being stalked. They're after her. And it's a huge security risk and she wants to know what calls these calls are, and why are the numbers voided out. After reading, verbatim, the information in CSP, she doesn't back down. This doesn't answer her question. Finally, he gets her off the phone, tells her he'll call back.

Only, he doesn't. He calls her voicemail number, leaves a message, and then quits.

A few minutes later, I get an escalation. It's the same woman, she wants to know where this guy is. She wants him to call her back. I look at the notes... she's freaking out over Follow Me Roaming. She thinks it's a wire tap. She thinks they're invading the airwaves and listening in. And by God, she's taking this to the Attorney General because of this huge security breach and how no one in Cingular is giving her the answers she wants.

I tell her I'll send this rep, who's sitting right next to me, an e-mail, and I get her off the line.
