Had a problem with my mmc when i tried to install a downloaded software. With the mmc in my phone, the file manager and gallery kept on displaying "closed application" and then continued to open but froze at the end. I formatted the mmc with my pc card reader but when i reinserted it back to my phone, the phone cannot anymore read my mmc and always said no memory card inserted. My pc however still recognizes the mmc and can still save and open files in it. Anybody knows what happened. Was it a problem of an XP formatting a Symbian OS rendering the mmc unreadable by my Symbian 6600?

You've formated the card with the wrong file system.
The standard settings format cards with the FAT32 system, but you need FAT for Symbian OS phones.
Just reformat the card and chose the correct file format.

Thanks Bjoern. My MMC is working now.I thought I needed to buy a new MMC.In our country a 256MB MMC costs 1250. That saved me a lot of money.

You're right, MMC is priced like a camel here. At a rate of 52.55 Philippine peso to a U.S. dollar, imported products are really very expensive. I am new to the symbian system and a bit naive on its technicalities. Thanks again.

I've just checked the price, 1250 Phillipine Peso would be around 19,64 Euro (or 23,76 US$).
Compared to the prices here in Germany it isn't that expensive, just a bit overpriced.
