I live rural and I'm looking for a cell phone that can access broadband internet, with some type of large minute/no limit access plan.
I'm sick of dial-up and I seem to remember hearing about high speed access wirelessly through cell phones.
Does anybody know?

What kind of phones allow this, and the PCMCA goes into a PC?
I've read a lot about laptops being capable, but I need internet access on my PC.

at present I see only PCMCIA cards st cingular.com...
you will need an adapter for your PC to take that card..... the fastest one there is the Novatel U730...Average downlink speeds of 400 to 700 kbps on 3G UMTS/HSDPA networks
have a talk to a computer store for pricing for the PCMCIA adapter

What feature should I search for? Wireless internet?
When you say transfer rate sux, that means that the speed is slow?

That card will most likely not be very helpfull.... HSDPA/UMTS is only in select markets ie seattle, san francisco. ect .... not rural areas

go to cingular.com go to shop now look and click on PC cards... any of these cards should work... the speed on them is 100-130 kbps... about double dial-up..... I also believe verizon has faster pc cards ... but I do not work for them so I am not for sure....
