I recently sent my D600 back to Samsung UK as the Incoming Ring tone was taking 2-3 seconds to reach full volume (5)! I have received the phone back as they discovered a problem with some parts (now replaced) and the phone does the same thing but now with only 1.5 seconds delay!?
Does anyone else out there have the same thing happen? Is this a problem or is it just the way the phone is?? Any feedback would be great b4 i take this up with Samsung (AGAIN)..

My d 600 does it as well it vibrates then rings real low then the full volume kicks in. Is there any way to make it vibrate and ring at the same time

There are only 3 options:
Melody - just the ringtone
Vibrate then Melody - which is what you've got it set to
Vibrate - No melody just well.. vibrate!
I've always had Nokia's and they could do what you ask! Sorry, but it looks like you can only have the 3 variations above!
I'm a little curious that your D600 vibrates then kicks in with the ringtone 'fading' to the volume you've set! Can I ask for a little test?:
Can you set your Incoming Call to Melody and set the volume to 5! Let me know if on RECEIVING A CALL you get full volume instantly OR the ringtone starts off quiet then gets louder!??
This would help me quite a bit as I don't know anybody else with this phone!

Guys, FYI:
Samsung has been using Ascending Ringers (ringtone starts quietly, but rises to full volume after a few seconds) on their non-clamshell type phones for quite some time (I think the later versions of the D500 were one of the first to have this feature).
Apparently, Samsung was afraid that people might put the phone to their ears and god forbid the ringer goes out full blast in their ears! Ouch.

Ok guys thanks for your help! Cheers Rudy for trying my little test, much appreciated!
Looks like I better get used to the 2 sec delay as it seems 90% sure programming safety stuff (I've also had feedback on other forums)!
One thing other folk have mentioned is that codes could be entered to take away the delay!? Hmmm, we'll see..
Thanks again everybody who helped out..

Being able to pick up a call during the initial vibrate/low-volume-ring stage is, to me, a great mobile-phone etiquette bonus. This works very well for me in places where people need some quiet, like bookshops, where it's not usually necessary to go to 'Silent-Mode' to stay considerate of other book browsers.
