i got a samsung t809 from a buddy of mine. he had with t-mobile, but i have cingular. when i put my sim card in, it says "wrong card". do i need to get something done at a t-mobile store, or is it not going to work? appreciate any help.

T-mobile has this policy to provide an unlock code to their customer to unlock their phone after they used T-mobile service for 90 days. Check the following thread:

You may need to ask your buddy who sold you the phone to help.

My guess is call T-mobile and request for the unlock code to unlock the T809 phone. Remember to ask them for the detail instruction on how to key in the code to the phone.
