Hi,
I am trying to reach a friend who is away in a semi rural area, for the first week I was able to get her voicemail but the phone wouldn't ring..normal. Then I started getting 'the suscriber you are trying to reach is unavailable or has travelled outside the coverage area' ..or the phone call would just not connect. Now I hear "at the subscriber's request, this phone does not accept incoming calls". I have no other way to contact her and expected her back some time ago, so I find this troubling. Any ideas why the last message comes up? unpaid bill? stolen phone?
Thanks

sounds like inbound barring has been enabled by her or the service provider

Why would the service provider do this- wouldn't t mobile just play a message that the line was disconnected if the bill was unpaid ?

being at the subscriber's request...it sounds like she did the barring. mostlikely situation was that the phone was stolen/lost, taken further away/battery died when lost, then she called to report it.
...a guess.

It could be a hint. Maybe she doesn't want to talk to you and blocked your number.

Not possible (same message from other lines)...is it even possible to block specific numbers anymore? Currently I can only block 'blocked' calls. (have cingular)

most likely the account is either canceled or suspend.

Called T mobile; it means the account was either suspended for non payment or the user called to suspend it (lost phone etc)
