OK i have been reading a lot of posts on this from people recently so i thought i would put in my 2 cents. Every post i have read says the same thing, "My computer is not reading my phone and the phone acts like it is charging" OK well the data cable for LG phones don't work the same way that the ones for say Moto phones do. What is read by your computer in the USB port is the data cable itself and not the phone.
So with this in mind, the only way to transfer stuff to and from your phone is with a program like LG contents bank. The site you can download that from is http://uk.wowlg.com. To transfer stuff to and from your phone try to match the first letter of your phone model. For example if you have a C1300 use the C1200 listed on the wow lg site. If you have an L1400, use an L1100 and so on and so forth. I hope this clears up any issues anyone has with transfering files to and from your phone.
Oh and i foirgot to mention, the JAVA downloader doesn't work regardless of what you do, so don't try it.
