Does the e315 accept midis? I thought it only accepted .mmf files. I remember I was only able to have .mmf uploaded onto it.
Okay, so you can put pictures through your phone.. Did you use Image to Phone or did you use File Manager on the PIMS & File Manager program?
Anyway, most likely you'll have to conver your files to a .mmf extension, so that your phone can play it, as a sound. I believe there's a file size limit.. like idk.. 40kb? Or something to that extent--I remember I couldn't put certain file sizes on it.
I used a Yamaha .mmf converter program thingy. Anyway, it turns out I could only have 10 second clips at 8kHz quality. -_-"

Here's the link for that Yamaha conversion tool to make .mmf files:
http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/downloads.html
I, too, have found that it only converted about 10
seconds of audio until I converted the sound
to mono from stereo. Then, the converted sound
seemed to be as long as I wanted.
Also, my phone (P735) had a 100KB limit on file
size. That works out to about 22 seconds at the
8 kHz (higher) rate.
One other tidbit, my phone reserved 1MB for
ringtones (I don't know if it can grab more
if needed). So, it may be limited to ten of
these 22 second, 8 kHz ringtones.

By the way, midi files (.mid) do work as ringtones
but they are lame compared to sampled sound
.mmf files.

By the way, if you really want to get tricky
and add vibrations and flashing LEDs to
your new home-made ring tones, go here
for the solution:
