I've tried two different USB cables for my X497 and they don't work. When I plug them into the phone it just kills the phone and I have to remove the battery to get it to turn back on.
I have a serial cable that I used to unlock the phone. However, it seems I can't use that with PC Studio PIMS to file manage. I want to be able to manage the phone book and move images.
Thanks!

I've been trying to get a SAM V200/V205 cable working - driver installs okay. But inserting cable into the phone switches the phone off.
Tried COM4 (which is in the device list) in the Smsung PIM s/w but does not connect.
Is this the correct cable.
Thanks

I am having exactly the same problem. Doesn't anyone know why the phone turns off as soon as you plug in the cable?

Correct cable shouldn't turn off the phone when it is plugged in. My guess is it is either a incompatible or defective cable.
