For some reason, I cannot find out how to start a txt message chat with anybody. I can recieve them, and from that one start a new one, but cannot, for the life of me, find out how to start a chat myself without already having one, or even view a chat that I exited but is still active and not ended. Can anybody help me?

you can try to enable it using seem editing. i had to enable it this way cuz just like urself, i couldn't find it AT all on my phone (even after consulting the phone's manual).
seem 0032_0001
Offset 46 -- bit 6 [checked] (menu item, may require update to mma files)
after performing the said seem edit, the "chat" feature will be found under "office tools"
good luck,
kristina

first you need an AOL AIM account... set one up... then set up your phone
Starting a new conversation:
Sign on to AOL Instant Messenger (AIM).
Scroll to and select "Buddy List".
Scroll to the desired screen name, then select "SEND IM" by pressing the Right soft key.
Enter the desired message.
Select "SEND" by pressing the Right soft key.
Continuing a conversation by receiving a new IM:
When a new IM message is received, the message "New IM From:" will appear.
Select "View" by pressing the Right soft key.
To reply to the message, select "Write" by pressing the Right soft key.
Enter the desired message.
Select "SEND" by pressing the Right soft key.

I'm not looking to chat with people on AIM, I am looking to do SMS chats, so that it is done on a pay per message, and not by kilobyte, as well as not restricting me to those with an AIM account. There is a regular chat feature like this that I have had on my two other phones, and is explained up above. The RAZR simply has this feature half locked, most likely in an attempt to get more people to use the AIM feature instead.

Ok, I figured it out, I was able to enable the chat on the phone by using P2KMenuEditor. It also enabled everything else that was not.

Can you explain how you fixed this issue? I've been having the same problem with accessing chat and I'd love to know what you did!
Thanks!
