Since I'm still here and don't want to start another thread...
I added a LARGE theme file and it won't erase from my phone.
Is there anyway to delete it? I've tried deleting using Windows Explorer, but no dice.

Can happen. Had it on a 6610, some pictures weren't eraseable. I had to take it to a Nokia Care Center so they can flash a new firmware to the phone which erases everything and resets the phone.

Ive just bought CA-42 data cable. Ive tried to install it on my laptop. The first and the second trials with the cable succeed but when i tried to make a modem connection and connect to internet, it failed. Then i reinstall the data cable driver again. Then i plug the cable to my computer, but when i looked at device manager, i couldnt find it. Looks like my laptop couldnt recognize it.
I dont think its the driver problem, cos the data cable just cant be recognized by my laptop. I'd be glad if anybody could help me.
Thanks before

I waited three weeks for my ca-42 cable I got it from vavolo.com it say "nok" and lists the models. It came from Japan. I have a 6101 and when I installed the drivers and PC Suite it came with I connected the phone and get a message like "Enhancement not supported" can the cable still work even tho it is not recognised? or is it the drivers?

I've found the driver that able to connect your CA-42 to the computer. It doesn't require any hack... =D It is
PL-2303 Driver Installer.exe and i have it for you guys to download. After installed you need to restart your computer. You also need pc suit installed in your computer. After the restart use pc suit and connect your phone by cable. When your it recognizes. Go to My Computer and find your phone ^_^ Need help ? Email me krzvi3tboi@yahoo.com
ok i am trying to unlock my phone but i needed a CA-42 cable which i know isn't compatible with my phone but i was told that didnt matter cus im not transferin or nefin blah blah blah. but what i want to know is why the hell my computer jus refuses to install the drivers for the cable.whenever i plug it in it wants USB UART drivers and i've installed different ones that supposedly work but they're been no good. any help?!?!
thanks

I have a second-hand Nokia 3586i that is a temporary phone after I lost my other one in a snow bank. I would like to use PC Suites to update the contact list on the phone rather than type the numbers in individually, so I purchased a Nok-CA-42 Connectivity Adapter Cable from eBay (like everyone else).
Windows Vista recognized it right away and installed the driver, which was a Prolific driver attached to Comm Port 6. It was quite old (2003), so I went to the Profilic website and updated it to the latest version 3.3.3.114 (Jan 14, 2009). When I updated it, it changed from Comm Port 6 to Comm Port 4, not that I think that matters, but just an observation. |FYI, I also do not see the Nokia phone listed under "Wireless Devices" in the Device Manager. I don't see any wireless devices listed.
I then went to Nokia and downloaded and installed the latest version of PC Suites, version 7.1.1.8.0. Even though Vista recognizes the CA-42 USB-Serial Cable as Comm Port 4, there are no options in PC Suites under Connection Manager for connection types of any kind, and when I click "Click here to connect a phone", it can't find a phone to connect.
I contacted Nokia and they were happy to help until they found out the cable was not theirs, then they sent me to a web site to purchase theirs for $59. I am not that anxious to have it work for me, but before I give up completely, was wondering if anyone has any ideas.
The Prolific Driver seems to work just fine with CA-42 cable, but it does not appear to work with either the phone or PC Suites.
