ok you keep on with your medianet unlimited and see how far it gets you, plus in you original post you stated that you were charged the $20 for medianet unlimited on your bill. There is a reason why unlimited Data connect is $40 and unlimited medianet is only $20 i guess you'll just have to see that differance on your next bill , again I don't know why if you already had all the answers whay you posted a question in the first place.

And that is? Nobody YET can say what is different between the two.

And if you read my follow up, after the phone call, you will see WHY I was over billed. It was because of a lapse in the billing cycle.

None of this changes the fact that what you are doing is wrong.
Feel free to justify this hower you want, it still does not change the situation at all.
You were told by misinformed reps of cingular that medianet would work. Well it works, but it is not cingular policy to allow this to happen. Just because the system is letting it go through doesnt make it any more right for you to continue having the medianet on your treo.
Listen I can splice my cable and get free cable tv, or I can get free internet from my neighbors 802.11x wireless router, or go and use alligator clips and tap into my neighbors phone network and make free calls. Heck I can remove the cover off of my power meeter and spin it back and get free power. All of these things I can do and the system in place will allow me to do it.
Guess what, I dont do these things because ethically I dont believe I should. The fact that someone who is misinformed told you it was possible to have medianet on your treo, doesnt change the ethics involved here.
It is wrong, you have been told it is wrong.
You now make the choice. Do to the right thing or to do the Wrong thing.
Choose wisely

I'm not saying its your fault as the rep should have explained this to you ( now if he did and you just didn't understand or failed to ask questions thats differnt) but I don't see you having a problem getting this solved through customer care but just as a heads up the unlimited data connect is $40 instead of the $20 for medianet and yes that is in addition to you normal rate plan. |
Thats the differance as I've already explained.

It is wrong? I have been told? By who? Some guy off a BB? Or by 2 Cingular reps? I'll trust the Cingular reps. In fact, I was TOLD that is WAS OK to do! Unless you can produce a document with Cingulars logo / name on it that states that Treo's can NOT use MediaNet. Otherwise, I'll have to go with the people that run the business, and not some guy off a BB.

So then MediaNet isn't either, right? Since they are both not checked off on that web page.

Ok smart guy who came to this board to ask a question we didn't come to you......I am a cingular rep. as a matter of fact I'm at work right now so if you want to call and have me tall you that feel free to do so. just go to cingular.com and look up the number for the retail store in Athens, Alabama.

puenil...all this information is what i was trying to explain to you int he first place. if you access url's outside MEdianet, it will be charged at an additional rate. I thought that's possible why your bill was high and it is better to have the information for yourself.
as elmo said. that list shows what is not supported by cingular. example. the treo (as you know) has the capability to add ringtones. if you go to the cingular web page and try and DL a ringtone for the treo, it is not possible.
this information was to inform you better so you would not be overcharged again, if that's the reason for the charges in the first place.
