I went ahead and bought the new v3r unlocking software (ebay) I asked if he was sure that it would work with the motorola V3r and it said it would. I have phoned a shop and he said he would do it for £20, i feel if I payed another £20 i might as well sell my new v3 and get the right network i want. So I was just wondering if it was worth trying out the new software (when they send it) to unlock it, i really dont want to break it as its a present for someone. Its a gamble isnt it

AFAIK there is no software only unlock method for the V3r - to unlock it requires a hardware unlocking device and testpoint.
You didn't mention before you were buying software - I thought someone was offering to unlock the phone for you.
When it arrives tell us what the software is and we will be able to tell you more

Have no idea what the first lot of software is for the V3...something called RSD_Lite_2.4, R374_G_0E4210R_Monster, and an empty driver folder.
The 2nd bit of software i was sent, which says UNLOCK ALL NEW MOTOROLA WITH TEST POINT INCLUDED, which has P2K_Easy_Tool_v39, and some pictures of various mobiles with a screw driver pointing at them, I payed £6 for these from ebay, i got a refund on the first, and then found i bought an older version of the free P2K_Easy_Tool_v41.
It seems ebay are making a mint from people like me selling free software, I hadnt known at the time, i was told it is possible to unlock the motorola V3r with the right software, now the seller tells me to buy a T6 screw driver!

Hi ,
I have been updated my version to R374_G_0E.42.10R_PDS005_LP0039.shx
i still can not send mms via my v3. My operator (also i am workin for them) is supporting auto conf sendin by sms. I can not receive this conf. sms too. Is this a logical problem in your opinion? Here is what am i doing:
-Making all conf manuel and correct.
-Sendin under 100k gif.
-Phone is looking connected gprs over mms apn
-I am looking from servers to my gprs usage logs
-I am using traffic over mms apn in size of my mms
-Looking to mmsc servers and can not find my log because this cannot reach there .
So Where is the prolem? This is happening only with the same phone. I changed SIM card and tried same SIM card on another phone-there is no problem. Only with this device i am having trouble.
What should i do .

Hi to all...
I have just purchased a Mot Razr V3 in Germany. Here are the data's
Razr V3
Boot Loader: 0A.30
SW Version: R4515_G_08.BD.62R
Color: black
Provider: Vodafone
Simlock
Now - I went to a number of boards to find out if and how I could unlock the cell phone. When I get this right... I can give it to someone who has the relevant hardware (cost 15,- to 20,- euro). I could do it my self by opening it and use the "testpoint".
BUT what I did not realy get - can I downgrade it without any problems or change firmware and unlock it than???? What would I need??
Thanks
Knuspi

Its a V3r - not a V3 - you cannot unlock it via software only
