Hi everyone I just got started reading, about how to unlock a v3...and I was just wondering if these steps are the same for a V3t, I don't really know whats different about this phone, I'm interested in buying one from my Provider (Rogers) and it seems to be much more cheaper than other others (V3i), and I'd like to unlock it myself, Will this phone work? Thanks very much!

I thought the v3t was only for t-mobile - and is basically a v3i
Anyway - no these steps are for the v3 only

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO got it got it got it got it. Thank you Mikay and Old_fool for the step by step and then the followup help...TREMENDOUS benefit! Thanks specifically for the suggestion of flashing with an old version, running the unlocker and then flashing with the newest version. Started right up, popped in my Cingular SIM in my T-mobile phone and BOOM BABY! started right up. Even made a call. Tell you what...You have a cowboy's word..You guys are ever in California on the Central Coast (Santa Barbara County to be exact) and the drinks are on me.

I am trying to unlock using the software mentioned but I'm really struggling. I have a phone locked to vodafone and want to use it with an orange sim card.
When I run the downgrade software it comes up with 'unable to find telephone interface' or something like that - can anyone help please?

Hi there,
Trying to unlock my V3 using these instructions and having a bit of bother! I've got RSD Lite 2.7, the Motorola Unlocker 2005 and file to flash the phone with as well as the USB driver. RSD Lite recognises the phone OK, but when I try to flash with the file in the first post of this thread it comes back with:
¨Failed flashing process. Phone[0000]: Unable to retrieve interface handler. (0x4107027)¨
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Original bootloader is 07.E0.

It's ok, fixed that problem but have a new one now!
Got it down to D0, ran the Unlocker which seemed to go OK too, but on reboot it still says 'Check SIM'
Is it because the SIM is from 3? I think it's a USIM? Would that make a difference?
