Seems it must be. Tried a T-Mobile SIM (phone was locked to 02) and it works fine...

edit; realise I should have edited my original post with updates, sorry about that!

Anybody know where to get BL07D0_for_BL0823_Downgrade.shx? I think I have everything else that I'll need to do the unlock, but cannot get from v8.23 to v7.do.

Hi,

I followed the instructions, including those for removing the drivers and trying again (which I had already done on my own). The link to ?an alternate method on extrememodders is invalid so I could not try it.

Currently:
V3 phone locked to Rogers
UID tool from motorola used to put drivers
- of note, it only ever asks me for USB modem driver; my
- other Razr (a V3c CDMA one) required multiple drivers, and
- I have seen reference to this normally being the case with V3
- as well
Checked B/L 08.26
SW R374_G_03.41.C 3R_B
Try to use scotty2 bootloader downgrader (V2)
Get "Unable to find any valid interfaces" error

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You should not use the scotty2 downgrade - flash with the archy 7.D0 bootloader instead

Its definitely a driver issue - I would try reading the getting connected tutorial. Any issues still - then post in that thread

Sigh, I swear I can work on something for hours, then when I finally ask for help is when I find a solution.

The solution for me (if anyone else has the problem): the issue was I was never being asked to load any more drivers than the USB modem one. I tried starting MPT but it wouldn't even see the phone. I had downloaded the UID recommended by Mikekay10 at http://www.themotoguide.com/getconnected.php and followed there instructions for loading the drivers but it still only looked for the USB modem. The solution ended up being running the UID program. This prompted the computer to look for the rest of the drivers. I then simply turned off the UID program and ran the bootloader downgrader without disconnecting or powering down the phone. No problems, rest of unlocking went fine.

Thanks for the quick reply Mikekay10 - I had the other method for downgrading available too, but as you said it was definitely a connection issue.

Cheers

Mikekay, is it still an issue w/ the new razrs that they can't be unlocked, I've dged the bootloader, tried it, nada, reflashed w/ 40.08R tried MPing with 40.79 nada, I'm assuming its the newer un-unlockables?

The normal V3 (R374) can be unlocked with P2k Easy Tools if moto unlocker fails

Is there a tutorial?

Or is it a straight unlock?

Which version of p2k tools?
