A quick question for anyone that might know - I can't seem to send or receive multimedia msgs such as pictures on my phone, I don't have a manual and can't seem to find the settings to allow this - can anyone help? Thanks.

Get your provider to send the settings to your phone (most providers you can do this yourself from their website)

Hi! I have placed my T-Mobile simcard and it is asking for a subsidy password. So I guess my phone is locked to Cingular. I have read the first 20 pages of this topic. I'm still confused in how to unlock this phone. Can you please help me? I have.

Boot Loader
08.23
SW Version: R374_G_0E.42.10R

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB Data Cable

I have bought unlocking software on eBay but I'm still confused on how to do it. Should I use the RSD Lite?

Thanks for your quick response. My phone now is.

Boot Loader
07.D0
SW Version: R374_G_0E.42.10R

I have used the Motorola_unlocker.exe but when I inserted my T-Mobile simcard, it is still asking for subsidy password. Is there anything else I need to do to unlock the phone?

Do I need to flash my phone again with the R374_G_0E.42.10R monster pack after doing the Motorola unlocker?

You have two options.

Either locate P2k Easy Tools (warez so no links allowed) and use this to unlock

If you can't find it you can try flashing an old monsterpack, running unlocker, then flashing a recent monsterpack.

I went through and found RSD Lite and downgraded my (T-Mobile) phone from 08.26 to 07.D0, then I proceeded to unlock the phone as described in the first post. After which I inserted my Cingular SIM into the phone and it gave me the "subsidy password" error. Thinking 'ok' I proceeded to find a few monster packs and install them using RSD, then unlocking after that, then loading the newer one and trying the SIM then. No luck. Then I went and reinstalled the old Monster Pack, unlocked the phone, installed the new MP, then unlocked the phone and still no luck. I can't find P2k tools ANYWHERE, and I'm tired, can anyone provide me with a link to P2k (I know you can't post it, email it to me) or links to the old Monster pack I should use and the New one (if you can't post those either email them also). Thank you much-o for your help. BTW Mike, good tutorial, I must've just messed up somewhere.

Update= I've located two seperate vesions on P2k Tools, both have not worked using the unlock SP command. Failed. Says 'test point reqiured for booter greater than 8.A0, but I downgraded to 7.D0, could there be a problem there?

I have finally unlocked my phone. It is now accepting and recognizing my T-Mobile simcard. It took me several flashes to successfully unlock it. At first, I tried the P2K Easy Tools but it did not unlock my phone. I think that software erased my IMEI number because before when I use RSDLite, I can see my IMEI number. now it says N/A. How do I view my IMEI number on the screen of the phone? After using P2K, my phone says Contact Service Provider. so I thought I messed up my phone. I tried the Motorola_Unlocker again but my phone is still saying Contact Service Provider.

So I decided to try your other advice. I flashed my phone with. S/W Version: R374_G_0E.40.79R.shx. Afterwards, I panicked because my phone won't boot up. I cannot remember if I used Motorola_Unlocker after flashing it to 40.79 because I was really worried that I have totally messed up my phone. All I remember was flashing it with R374_G_0E.42.10R_PDS005_LP0039.shx because I want my phone to boot up again. Afterwards, I inserted my T-Mobile simcard and then I was surprised that it showed my T-Mobile phone number on the screen and asking if I want to customize my phone. Hurray!

Thank you very much for all your help and advice. I'm finally at peace and can now use this phone. Good luck to all those who are unlocking their phones.

Where did you find R374_G_0E.42.10R_PDS005_LP0039.shx? Or could you email me the link, post it here or email me the file? Thanks!
