so I have a motorola V3i and in the bootloader screen it says
0A.30
does that mean theres no way I can unlock the phone just using my USB cable?
I also have p2k easy tools V37 but it mentions I need to create a TESTPOINT which I really don't want to do

Sometimes if you have bootloader 7.D0 the screen displays black in bootloader.
Does RSD Lite recognise the phone? What was your original bootloader?

Yea it was recognizing as blank. I flashed it with R374_G_0E.42.10R monster pack and this made it back to normal but its still locked.

Hi, Mikekay10 thank you for you time and effort here I have unlocked my V3 after reading almost every post on this thread.
I used RDS lite 2.7 to downgrade the bootloader and then used moto-unlocker and I was amazed to find it worked (just didn't expect t be so lucky first time).
I now have the black bootloader screen when I press * # and power, althought the phone is still seen in RDS.
I now want to lose the Virgin logo at start up.
Will flashing a monsterpack achieve this and what would I have at start up in its place?
Thanks for all your help you are a star.

I had managed to downgrade to 07.D0 bootloader but was stuck on firmware 42.10 and phone was locked.
I read through most of the 64 pages here and tried to downgrade to 40.79. Even though it kept saying it had done it, whenever I checked the bootloader screen, it still kept saying it was version 42.10 !
So I just tried the unlocker again, and then back to 42.10 and hey presto ! All unlocked and one happy camper !
