with a data cable you can't copy files from the phone to the pc, but you can from the pc to the phone. i got a T310 and a SE data cable (RS232 cable DRS-11). this is how i got things to work:

i've downloaded and installed MyPictures from:
http://clubsonyericsson.com/en/software_windows.htm

MyPictures installs Mobile Phone Monitor too, so you don't
have to care about that. (rebooting the system is necessary)
start the program and select Send file to phone from File menu.
a dialog box will appear, and it will start to search for the
connected phone. if no phone is found, it will bring up the
connection wizard where you have to specify the name for
your device and sim card. from now on these options will be
stored by MPM. btw you can use control panel \ phone monitor
options to modify these names. the Send file dialog box will
notify you if the phone is found and connected.

you can also use SendFile from Christersson.org, but note, that it takes about 30 secs to detect whether your phone is connected or not.

happy uploading! icon_smile.gif

+kiri.

p.s.: you'd better buy an irda adapter instead of a dc! an irda adapter is capable of sending files in both ways!

I've got a t616 and just bought the dcu-11 cable to connect my pc to the internet using the phone's modem. I installed phone monitor software and modem drivers, and the sony ericsson communications package from website. I was able to sync phone with outlook, but I can't seem to connect to internet. It dials, then the phone says, "connecting", then flashes "wrong user id or password" and the computer says "TCP/IP CP reported error 738, The server did not assign an address". What AM I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hi,

You are supposed to install some important softwares,

1. Mobile Phone Monitor
2. SendFile 2.0
3. Floats Mobile Agent

All these softwares are available here,
http://www.clubsonyericsson.com/en/software_windows.shtml

Bye,

hello guys, please help me , because I am about to kill that cellphone. I got T226 and a USB cable, I nstalled the USB software, everything is working at that point. My computer detects the cable and its ready to use. Than I installed Mobile Phone monitor, Floats Mobile Agent, MMS Studio and Picture Editor. My floats mobile agent is working, I specified on which COM port is mu USB, which is COM6, but when I start MMS studio or picture editor, in the taskbar I see a small black cellphone icon, withconstantly blinking checkmark. At the first time that checkmark was green, that for some reason it start blinking yellow. None of the programs detecting my phone. All connections are secure. I am pretty sure there is a problem with that Phone monitor, under the COM tab I have 6 COM ports, I tried enabling all reserving unreserving, nothing helps. PLEASE, help me, dont know what to do. icon_cry.gif
