OK, I get that I can send midi and QCP's to my phone. But how to I make those pecific audio files? I have Cool Edit Pro, but there is no designation or extension for qcp and I'm not mozart to construct a midi from scratch
Just curious if anyone can help,
Rich

hey, I just got the phone this weekend, I recommend adding the $4.99 Unlimited txt & pix messaging to your plan. If you don't they will charge you $0.25 for each time you send and receive a pix (MMS).
If you dont have that addon, call up 611 and tell them to enable MMS (it doesnt cost anything to get it enabled, but they will charge you $0.25 for each message sent/received) if they already didn't. Then go to www.vzwpix.com then click on the "Create" button the top. Under "To:" enter you phone number (1234567890) ten digits.
The VX6000 will play QCPs and Midis. But unless you have the cable, you can only send midis to the phone via that web interface. So just download whatever you midi you want then when you are on that page under New slide click on "From PC" then "with audio" and find the file and click on add. You can add multiple files and you can also mix it up with images (images should be 120 x 131).
Hopefully this helped.

QCPs must be made with Qualcomm software. http://www.3gupload.com has a good tutorial on making them in the HOWTOs

Guys and Girls,
A simple search of the internet will produce thorough explanations of how to get ringtones onto your phone. One way is through the use of a data cable and some free software. The cable costs about $20 to $30.
If you don't want to use the cable, you can use this method.
1. Create an account at vzwpix.com
2. Download a ringtone from the internet that you want to put on your phone. Look for a ringtone in MIDI format that has a filesize under 30 KB.
3. Using an email program (i.e. Outlook), send an email to your phone (1112223333@vzwpix.com). Trying to send files through the vzwpix.com website doesn't work well for everyone so send the email from an email program instead. I use Outlook and my Comcast account without any problems. I am not sure if sending the files from Hotmail or Yahoo works. Make sure the file has a .mid extension on it. Note that you will be charged $0.25 per sent message if you don't have the monthly plan where you prepay for a certain number of picture messages.
4. When you receive the picture message on your phone, save the sound file. You can then use it as a ringer.
Here's the kicker: the LG VX6000 can actually play MP3s! To get them to your phone without the cable you must have them in the correct format and change the extension to .mid and again, the file must be under 30 KB. If you have the data cable, this size limitation goes away. Search the internet for more information on that....

Hey everyone, you can save whatever you want as a ring tone.
All you have to do is record it through your voice memo, save it, pix msg it to yourself and save the sound. Then on your phone go to menu; my media(#7); then my music(#2), and setas ringtone. It's not as clear as if you was to download it, but you can have anything you want as a ringtone.
