Hi,
I'm a noob here but judging by the previous posts I think you guys might be able to help. Long story short I dropped my motorola v276 into the sink which at the time was filled with water. So I pull it out and of course it's dead on the spot. I know the warranty doesn't cover it so there's no use in going back to Verizon with it. It's only been a day but it still won't turn on. I've heard taking the battery and SIM card out (don't know how to do that) and then putting it in the oven for a short time will dry it out enough to make it work again. This sounds too crazy to do. I was hoping for some suggestions......

If you dropped the whole phone in the water, well im sorry to say, you pretty much have a dead phone. I would atleast take the sim card out. You can find that under the battery. You take that out from the back of the phone. theres a little chrome clip at the bottom. you push that and slide and pull. Then now you have acsess to the battery. If you let the sim card dry you might can save the info on the sim and then you could just buy a new phone with insurance

and that would explain why I have cingular and not Verizon. I thought it was just nextel and sprint. My mistake. I rather have GSM network anway. but still the answer to the questions is still, you have a dead phone.
