Hi, I recently purchased a used Samsung e315 as a replacement for one a friend of mine lost. It appears to work fine, except for one problem: when the phone is turned off, it constantly vibrates, unless plugged into the charger. When I press the power button lightly (not enough to turn it on) the vibrating temporarily stops until I release the button. As soon as I either plug in the charger or turn the phone on, the vibrating stops.
I've done a reset through the settings menu as well as a full reset. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

OMG I had the same problem as you!
You said you purchased a USED Sammy e315... You know what that means? Your phone has WATER DAMAGE. Yes, water damage.
I dropped my Sammy e315 phone in the sink... I was washing my face and the phone rang and I reached over to pick it up with my eyes closed (yea I know, stupid me haha), and it fell in the sink! I quickly retrieved it, and I couldn't use the phone for a day! Luckily I had my backup old Nokia 8310 (I love that baby... *sigh*). Eventually the phone turned on, but wow when I turned off my phone when I went to class, my phone would constantly vibrate. The only way to stop it was either to turn on the phone, or press the power button really quick. A few seconds later it would randomly vibrate again.
It's DEFINITELY water damage.
PS: Yay for my Samsung E730! Awesome upgrade from my water-damagd e315 =X

I highly doubt that Samsung would be willing to fix it for free or a low price, as there is water damage. It's not really a big deal, unless you actually turn off the phone. It sucks because the vibration actually wastes the battery. It did for me, where I actually left it vibrating for an hour and the battery life only had 2 bars instead of 3.
No problem. :]

Samsung doesn't cover water damage for standard warranty.
Yep, Kurisu is right on the money. It's water damage. One of my friend's phone was vibrating all the time while it was on and all the arrow and softkeys acted as the "WAP" button too. Ouch!
